Trust me, when I say my skin is really important to me. With the small amount of sleep I am getting, poor diet, the least I can do to help my skin looking fresh and vibrant is to have a good a skincare regiment in place.
To me, skincare is something that I have been passionate about for a long time now. More so than even make up (now that I am older). What’s make up without good skin? So skincare is def worth my time and $!!!
In the past, I have tried numerous of American brand skincare (i.e. Dr. Dennis Gross/ Dr. Perricone, Clinique, Lancôme, Philosophy, ect.) from Sephora and found that it didn’t work for me. (ok—I lied, it worked somewhat- but I needed more especially because these products are $).
Quick tip: Know your skin type! I didn’t know I had dry skin type until I was 25 years old. Thanks to Youtube! There is a plethora of information out there on skincare!!! And this is how I learned about skin care!

Here is my skincare day and night routine:
1.Oil Cleanser
Oil cleansers are an essential step for all skin types to remove oil-based debris and dirts such as makeup, sebum and soot.
2.Foam Cleanser (yes 2nd cleanser is necessary)
Foaming cleansers ensures that your face is free of all debris, sweat and dirt.
3.Exfoliator
By exfoliating helps skin renewal process by scrubbing away dead skin cells. I use an exfoliator once every 3 days.
4.Toner
Toner preps your skin to better absorb the essences and serum. It also resets your pH balance after using the cleansers.
5.Essence
Essence active ingredient that help skin cell renew at a faster rate! (Gotta have it for my skin).
6.Serum
I have been told by many that a serum is basically the same thing as essence, only serum is thicker in consistency. Serums target skin hyper-pigmentation, (which as a mommy dealing with the change in hormones, I need).
7. Emulsions
Similar to lotion but lighter in consistency. I find this really helps my dry skin and doesn’t clog my pores.
8.Sheet Mask **only for my night routine
I use 1 sheet mask a night and o-MY-Gawd! I saw a dramatic different in the suppleness of my skin. On top of that, sheet masks are relatively affordable. You can find pretty good ones ranging from 1.50-7.00 USD. I have tried numerous sheet masks!
9.Eye Cream
Eye cream hydrate and protect the skin around your eyes—great for my sleep deprive eyes!
10. Sleeping mask **only for my night routine
Sleeping mask hydrate and restore firmness as you sleep. I use a sleep mask once every other night to help with my dry skin.
*** Day skincare: I just skip the sleep mask/sheets masks and proceed to SPF
11.SPF
I personally reapply sunscreen on my face throughout my day. It is daunting, but I have to shield it from those harmful rays.
Now do your make up as you normally would.

The sheet masks are sheets jam packed w serums/esscense for your skin. There are so many sheet masks out there to address different needs: dry skin- brightening skin- collagen-ect. You would use it based on your skin needs. I have tried a variety of sheet masks and the ones I really like are by the Korean brand: Missha—

Oh I use these only once every two months I think. Only when I remember to get them or when I feel like it. Usually, I get collagen or cucumber ones. I’ll try to buy them more often.😉 thanks for the tips.

Also that sounds like my routine years ago. I have to say my skin today looks better than when I was in my early 20s.*** I was using body lotion for face…lotion is lotion- that was my mentality then lol
